This one’s a simple game that can easily be played via IM conversations, or in a car with two or more players, or basically anytime you’re bored… even by yourself.
What you do is pick a category, usually one with very many possible entries (”Song Titles” is my favorite category) then players take turns giving an entry in the category that starts with the last letter of the previous entry. Using the song titles example with a random starting point:
Like a Rolling Stone –> Eat it –> Turn, Turn, Turn –> Never Gonna Give You Up –> Plush… and so on

Despite the protests of the general populace, I’ve joined a Barbershop Choir. This takes up one evening a week, and sometimes two or three. I know Katie’s not happy about me being gone more often, but she’s supportive anyway; except, you know, when I practice at home. But can you blame her? I don’t have anything funny to say at this point which wouldn’t be horribly self-deprecating, so this will be boring (-er than usual).

So this is a couple days late, but that’s only because I forgot about it and Katie reminded me today. Prior to the final game of football for the season (I don’t count the Pros), there was some analysis as to who would win… Alabama or Texas. Now, ahead of time it’s always hard to predict, though I thought it was obvious Alabama would do the stomping they did (and a travesty that Texas didn’t drop below the Gators in the final standings), but beforehand, one of the sportscasters made the following observation, and I paraphrase:
Texas has played so sloppy the past few games that it’s time they showed everyone how they can play when they try… and Alabama has been so flawless lately that I think they’re due to make some mistakes. So I think Texas is going to take it.
Seriously? Alabama’s been good and Texas has sucked, so by that logic, Texas was going to win? And this guy’s a professional sportscaster.

I’m probably way behind the times on this. But this is one of the funniest things I’ve seen all year… and I watched Austin Powers earlier this year.

At this point, probably nobody but the spam bots read the site… especially since I haven’t updated it in a month. I’m still alive, but after having a cold last week, I seem to have a flu now… And I’m not supposed to get sick very often.

Successful Halloween party. I’m getting old though. The crazy time wasn’t nearly as crazy as years past. Though it went on pretty late, people partied until at least… almost… 10:30. And boy was there drinking, I’d say on average, most people had 1-2 drinks.
Real wild. Anyway, here’s a guitarless picture of a bearded-ALapeño dressed as John Lennon.

Now, I’m no Wallflower, but when it was pointed out to me a few months ago that one of my brake lights was out, I thought it would be a good idea for me to change it. Since I was a bit lazy and didn’t get to it right away, people have continuously pointed it out to me that my brake light is out. I’m beginning to think it’s safer to have the brake light out, cause people notice that. Weird. Though I bet I’ll still get a ticket for it eventually. I really should change it.

Thalia was a big hit at our Halloween party. First of all, she was cute as a squirrel juggling popcorn; but what was really amusing was the things she was afraid of.
Our giant spider? No problem, as you can see here she loves that thing.
Jason? She wants to kiss our scary posters… even though they look hideous.
But put me in a wig… and she’s terrified! Wish I could remember some of the comments about it from the party, they were pretty funny.

Another simple IM game.
In this one, each player picks a wikipedia page. When both have picked a page, they race to see who can connect the two pages using only links on either page. The first one to get from one page to the other (in either direction) gets the point.
You can add additional rules as desired like “No using the ‘what links here?’ button”, or “no categories”… but it’s pretty much on the honor system.
